Alex A. Molinaroli: The Resurgence of the Latin American Entrepreneur

Alex A Molinaroli is the President and CEO of Johnson Controls, Inc. He has served in this capacity since September 1, 2013 after being elected to the Board of Directors. He joined Johnson Controls in 1988 as a plant manager at one of its Mexican plants and rose through the ranks to become Senior Vice President for Operations & Engineering before assuming his current position.

Alex A Molinaroli is a member of the board of directors for Forest Laboratories, Inc., where he chairs the Compensation Committee, and The Pepsico Foundation Board, where he serves on the Audit Committee. He is also a member of the International Business Council at The World Economic Forum in Davos and a trustee of Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a degree in industrial engineering and received an MBA from ITAM, also in Mexico.

A Mexican-born executive has become president and chief executive officer of one of the biggest automotive parts suppliers in the world— Johnson Controls, Inc. Alex A. Molinaroli took over as president and CEO.

He is now leading Johnson Controls’ efforts to become a global leader in automotive efficiency by 2020. He has also been trying hard to restructure the board and its management team to make it more competitive and profitable globally.

Alex A Molinaroli was elected to the board in 2012 and became CEO of Johnson Controls in 2013. Previously, he was senior vice president for operations and engineering.

The famous entrepreneur told analysts in October 2013 that he is trying to transform JCI into a global powerhouse by focusing on vehicle cockpit electronics, hybrid technology and advanced safety systems.

Since taking over as chief executive, he has implemented several measures to make Johnson Controls more profitable. He is trying to increase profitability by cost-cutting and downsizing in some areas.
